What a beautiful photo, Doug. I enlarged it, and thought of my father, who wrote stories, and even books, about the rivers of British Columbia. My home province, BC consists of one mountain range after another, with rivers in between. Many of the streams looked a lot like your photo. I particularly like your Goethe quotation. I must share it with my two brothers who will, as I did, think of Dad and his river stories.
